The first layer is origin: Boston, 2018, and founders seeking something better than lackluster pretzels. The second is identity: Eastern Standard Provisions, an artisanal food brand with Waltham, MA as its stated headquarters. The third is purpose: "elevate the snack food experience" through a buttery, chewy soft pretzel whose center recalls brioche and whose outside uses a traditional Bavarian crust.
Its recipe adds another set of verified details. The pretzels are handcrafted from high-quality ingredients with no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives. Lightness and airiness define the brioche-style interior; a traditional Bavarian-style crust defines the exterior.

The product layer is divided into four families: signature soft pretzels, small-batch Liège Belgian waffles, gourmet salts and flavorful sauces. A customer can choose one family or combine baked items with seasonings and sauces in a single arrangement.
